Christmas Letter
Wow, what a year to celebrate! Big changes have come to
the Fifield household with new beginnings and many blessings from our Heavenly
Father, we have so many reasons to be grateful. We miss our family and friends
and wish you happiness this holiday season and many more blessings for the year
to come.
Here is a look back on our lives in 2013:
Early this year Isaac was selected to start flying
helicopters. The switch to helos landed us in southern Alabama on an Army post;
a place we never imagined we’d end up, but are so happy we did.
Living in southern Alabama has aloud us opportunities
for many mini vacations visiting several of Florida’s beaches, Atlanta
Aquarium, Orlando’s Sea World, the National Peanut Festival, going on an airboat
alligator tour, and the rare opportunity to swim and pet manatees down in
Crystal River, Florida.
Individually, we had our own adventures:
Isaac had an awesome time learning how to fly the TH-1H
(the revamped old Vietnam Huey), graduating from undergraduate pilot training
and ultimately fulfilling his lifelong dream of getting his pilot wings.
I (Jen) found a very low stress, part-time job working
at Lowe’s which allowed me to relax and take time off whenever needed for
whatever fun vacation Isaac could come up with. Additionally, I had the
opportunity to attend girls’ camp for the first time with my church for a week
with about 80 girls ages 12-17years and play the part of a mother duck.
Together, we celebrated our second anniversary on May
28th and shortly after were called to serve as primary teachers in
our church for the kids aged 7-8years old. With all these activities dealing
with kids you would think Heavenly Father was trying to prepare us for
something…. To our excitement, we found out we are pregnant, our baby is due
May 26th 2014! We are eager to see if we are having a baby boy or
girl and will know by December 30th.
Sadly, we will be saying goodbye to all the friendships
we have made here in Alabama come January 2014, as Albuquerque awaits us for
Isaac’s next phase of training on the UH-1N (twin engine Huey,) till about
June-ish. After New Mexico we will be stationed for 3-4 years in Minot, North
Dakota where Isaac will be one of the pilots protecting North Dakota’s
missiles.
We are thrilled for the many adventures to come our way
and can hardly wait to see many of you in 2014!
Love,
Jen, Isaac, Baby, Logan, and Wookie Fifield
