I think she's growing fond of the giraffe...or she's trying to eat his face off
This girl! Half way through her first year of life and growing so fast! She's in the 50th percentile for just about everything except height (she's on the short side like her mother). Weighing in at a wopping 16lbs, she is still in size 3 diapers and moved up to wearing 6month+ clothes, I have a feeling she will be in that size for a while. A few days before turning 6 months she tired some rice milk-it was the first "solids" she's ever had. Success! Corinne is moving around more and more and expressing herself very clearly (by screaming when she wants something or screaming when she's not happy). When she was handed off to her pediatrician for her 6 month check up, she started crying. The pediatrician quickly informed me Corinne is now in that "stranger danger" phase that can last up to 18 months... yikes! In addition, Corinne has also started putting EVERYTHING in her mouth. Guess it's time for me to bust out the vacuum!
As a family of four, Valentine's Day celebrations are not the same as they were 10 years ago when I celebrated my first Valentine's Day with the love of my life. This year was spent with my daughter. We saw the new Sonic movie, painted pottery and got some cookies at our favorite cookie shop. Later that night was spent making dinner, and turning in early because well, the hubs and little boy were both miserable while battling off colds and sickness. I got to thinking, as someone who only grew up decorating for Christmas, are there really all that many people who go big when it comes to other holidays? I have a cute little banner I put up for each major holiday, but struggle with knowing when to put it up and when to take it down. And how much is too much? Four our honeymoon, Isaac and I took a four day Carnival cruise out of Long Beach, California to Catalina Island and Ensenada, Mexico. The first day we got up super early to drive from Logan, UT aaaaal the way down to Salt Lake City. One of Isaac's old mission companions was having a baby blessing. Two weeks away and I turn 27 (I don't actually feel that old since my husband just turned 25. And I don't feel like he is actually that old since he is just finishing is last year of undergrad school. And unlike Utah, where a lot of guys serve missions so they graduate school later, being from Arizona I'm used to college graduates being younger. Result? My, what would you call it, age that I actually feel is around 23 or 24 years. THREE weeks and a couple of days and I will be in ARIZONA!! I'm so ExCiTeD to see my family and friends! Not looking forward to the HOT weather, but it might actually be a nice break from here since it's suppose to be in the 50's by the time we leave.
